I then completed my Masters Degree and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH in 1997. I am a member of the American Psychological Association and the Ohio Psychological Association. I am also a Board member (Treasurer) of the Toledo Area Academy of Professional Psychologists.
My husband and I are raising our two beautiful sons. My family is my priority, and I am blessed to have both my family and my husband's family living close to us. Since 1999, I have dealt with issues related to Crohn's disease and Colitis, which have given me tremendous insights into working with individuals and family members with chronic illness. I believe my own life experiences have enhanced my personal and spiritual life, as well as my abilities as a therapist.
My philosophy is that psychotherapy is a collaborative process; thus, I strongly feel that the therapeutic relationship is important to making progress in therapy. I think it takes courage to enter therapy, and I believe positive changes can occur at any point in life if someone is willing to work for those changes. My approach to therapy is primarily Eclectic, which means I use aspects of many theories that seem to fit with both the individual and their issues. Some of the theories on which I base my work include Cognitive-Behavioral, Interpersonal, and Systems theory. I am a provider with several insurance panels, and I also accept out-of-pocket arrangements. Please contact me with any questions and to discuss scheduling an appointment.
